Wow, 40 weeks snuck up on me! Today is baby’s due date but no baby yet. That’s ok by me. I’m really enjoying these last few moments of pregnancy.
size of the baby: a small pumpkin. My midwife guessed baby would be right around 8lbs at birth. Let’s see if she’s right!
clothes: I’m living in the same few outfits every week. I only fit one pair of shorts and it has been hot. Unfortunately, Seth is too slim for me to borrow his clothing.
I did buy a maternity swimsuit and got some use out of that! Felt really nice to get in the pool.
movement: baby is really active! Feels like baby is trying to make use of all of my tummy.
sleep: ehhh not so good. I wake up pretty frequently and feel uncomfortable. A few weeks ago I was really struggling with sleep because I was having horrible lower belly pain. My midwife said it was from the weight of my belly causing my muscles to get fatigued. I couldn’t even turn over in bed because it was so painful and weak. Definitely made sleeping challenging!
missing: being able to comfortably touch my toes.
cravings and aversions: I was very into ice cream and stone fruit. The last couple days nothing has sounded too good except juice and ice.
what we’ve bought: I finally bought baby stuff!! Seth bought a bunch of baby clothes. I bought a car seat, diaper backpack, wipes, and some breastfeeding supplies. We haven’t installed the car seat yet but it is out of the package. That’s progress, right?
what i’m dreaming about: not too many vivid dreams this trimester. Although, the other day I had a dream I was in labor. Maybe that’s a sign I’ll be in labor soon?
how i’m feeling: overall, pretty good! I had the lower belly pain I mentioned above but wearing a belly band seemed to solve that. I’ve been having regular Braxton Hicks contractions but otherwise not much else. I do get pretty bad acid reflux if I eat too much before bed. In general feeling good!
workouts: I dropped off on the workout front over the last month. Once I got that lower belly pain I started taking it easy. So mostly I’ve been going on walks with Seth & Kanoa or just trying to stay active during the day.
Seth is: excited for baby to arrive!!
labor signs: nothing much yet! I thought baby would come today but doesn’t seem like it. I’ve had maybe one or two painful contractions. But not next to each other and not that painful.
best moments: I love being pregnant (besides the first trimester). So the whole experience has been a best moment. I love having this close connection with baby and taking them around with me everywhere. I love feeling baby move. I think I’ll miss feeling baby move and kick the most. But I’m so excited to see them!
